About as expected.

It's about the same as the previous battery,with the biggest difference being longer uptime than the former one. It still suffers from heating up as it charges, an issue that changing out the stock included charger didn't fix. An obvious remedy would be an external charger for a second battery, but I don't know if one was ever produced.

Useful.

A superb tool of a bygone era, I'm coming of an age where I think I may bring back Grandpa's Companion, making use of its hooked handle and hefty weight on days when old skiing injures come back to haunt. Not airport-friendly unfortunately, although I had friend who had driven me there and then mailed the stick in such a way that it ended up traveling on the same flight, after which I promptly picked it up from baggage and used it hobo-style to carry my backpack out of the terminal.
