A Sunny Purchase

The Sunny book series is hard to find so I was happy to locate one of the books at a reasonable price. The book is in great shape with only a library tag on the back that I'll leave there.

The Brutality of Man

I love animation, especially darker themed work. I had never heard of Phil Mulloy but when I saw it recommended on Amazon I started looking for his work and really loved what I found. Since receiving the dvd I have only watched the first few cartoons, but was surprised at how to the point and brutal they were. Very impressive and thought provoking. Focusing on the herd mentality of man and our base wants really hits a note with me. I like when filmmakers don't shy away from our weird perverted little preoccupations and Mulloy certainly wants to push those buttons. There are people who are controversial for effect and then there are those who are irreverent because they don't buy into our societal sacred cows. Phil Mulloy is the latter. I look forward to seeking out more by Mulloy.

Daly makes the periphery fascinating.

Some artists follow their own muse. They are definitely speaking in a different voice but what they are saying doesn't hit you right. Joe Daly is unique but his work is captivating. I will follow him wherever he goes.
