Bosch S5A11 Car Battery 12V AGM Start Stop 5 Yr Warranty Type 115

Perfect fit for 2015 W212 Mercedes E class

Needed a new battery after numerous Covid-19 lockdowns and home working meant the original battery was over discharged and not in good health even after several cycles of charging with a CTEK AGM charger. Used a few sites to find out what battery I needed and was bewildered by all the allegedly compatible options excluding the options for the auxiliary battery in the boot. I knew I needed an AGM battery as my car has stop/start. However options given were: Type 096 e.g. Bosch S5 A08 This is too small and did not match the spec of my existing battery. Only has 70Ah capacity and 760A CCA Type 115 e.g. Bosch S5 A11 This is the exact spec of the OEM battery that came with my car in terms of size and spec. 80Ah capacity and 800A CCA Type 019 e.g. Bosch S5 A13 It was tempting to go for a better spec battery 95Ah capacity and 850A CCA as it was a compatible option shown for the car. However, the battery is too big for the battery tray. You have about 330mm max I reckon for the battery tray but this battery is 353mm in length. For reference the OEM Battery out of my car was: A 001 982 81 08 made by Varta (incidentally Varta make the same car batteries for Bosch) Length: 315mm Width: 175mm Height: 190mm Capacity: 80Ah CCA: 800A Hope that helps!

Direct replacement for the one in my doo...

Direct replacement for the one in my door. Was about a five minute job to change it. Did help to watch some youtube videos first just to familiarise what the task entailed.
