Unpleasant odor and very poorly made.
Unpleasant odor. In addition, seems very poor quality, like some cheap over-seas knock-off. Company would not accept a return or even an exchange credit. Very displeased. Waste of my money.

Marginal at best- can no longer use my own answering machine system.
I've had repeated problems with the performance since I installed it several weeks ago. Specifically, I cannot use my own answering machine system anymore. My landline is now automatically defaulted to Magic Jacks' answering service, which I don't like. I tried hooking up my answering machine directly to the MJ device via a split telephone jack, but my answering machine now only works on occasion for some weird reason. Also, there have been many times that my landline doesn't work anymore - period. No dial tone. And when you call the landline from another phone, your call gets sent right to MJ's voice mail service- the landline doesn't even ring when the call is coming in. Sure, it's more than 20 times cheaper than paying for phone service through my cable company, but what good is it if it hardly ever works correctly?
