Excellent motor/ESC combo
I have now bought 5 of these motors,in various winds. They have all been excellent,the build quality is great and for the price they can't be beaten. The ESC has had use in a Ex Real Racing crawler and has worked well-the brakes are fierce and it runs cool-it is Nimh and Lipo capable too. I don't have a program card which is the only downside but I expect I'll track one down eventually. Recommended.

Great for a lorry or fork lift but...
Needed this for a wet battery from a motorcycle-problems were 1) size,it is a size more suited for lorry or large vehicle batteries,for a m/cycle battery it will remove most of the electrolyte to get a reading 2) the rubber sealing bung on the bottom was a poor fit,I had to seal it with a thin smear of clear silicone RTV to get a seal,works ok now. So if you want a small battery hydrometer find another. Problem is most listed on ebay are of this size.....

Direct replacement for the useless original part
The original ECX plastic part is,frankly,rubbish. I bought my car off ebay but the seller had dishonestly "forgotten" to mention he'd burnt the motor out and stripped the gear-the gear mesh adjustment is poor and if the motor/pinion moves the whole thing jams and is toast. The metal gear is a direct replacement and is far more durable and less likely to strip its teeth,though you must make sure the mesh is correct and that the motor mount screws are tight.I replaced my motor mount screws with good quality Allen headed screws and since I have had no trouble at all. i highly recommend any ECX Ruckus owner to replace the plastic spur gear before it fails-'cos it will.
