Howard Waldrop is an underrated sci-fi master. Or better described as under-read, since all of his initiates undoubtedly agree upon his mastery of craft. He is oft collected in compilations of short stories and always celebrated by his more celebrated and popular contemporaries, yet his work continues to be out of print for some reason. Do yourself a favor and seek out some of his delightfully strange and imaginative work, you'll find yourself with a new favorite author.
