An inexpensive choice for portable soldering
1 of 1 found this helpful This soldering iron is obviously not going to be ideal for heavy use, but is a good portable solution that you can take anywhere for emergency repairs to circuit boards. The only disadvantage I have found is that it draws nearly 2 amps, so my plan to run it off a 18650 cell power bank I had will not work. This also means that it needs to be run off of a fairly stout cell phone charger or USB 3.0 port on a laptop (they have a blue plastic insert instead of the white one in a normal USB port) as most of the inexpensive ones can only put out half an amp.

Great Pigtail
I needed a BNC pigtail to build a set of test leads for my DSO 138 oscilliscope kit and so I got this one. I combined them with a set of leads from a broken Harbor Freight multimeter I had and it worked. Not really much more that you can say about a pigtail than that.

Not too bad.
This product is exactly as it is pictured. The thing to watch out for is that it does not include the mounting brackets or the adhesive to install it on the original brackets. It can be done but is a bit fiddly. I did it using cyanoacrylate glue from a dollar store, being careful not to glue the tac switches. Removing the original switches is a bit of a chore as they are welded to the brackets instead of being double sided taped like some other Apple products.
