Freshwater Algae of North America

Will not be trading my copy in any time soon!

Relatively comprehensive. Would have liked more information on desmids. The paper used in the book is thin (like onion skin paper). This helps pack in the textual information (>1000 pages of it), but it does disservice to the illustrations, which appear muted (rather than vibrant) and a bit washed out. That said, this is a valuable resource for anyone interested in freshwater algae.
