I replaced my batteries after 10 or more years on the originals. The new ones charged as they should and seem to be working well. Time will tell if they perform as well as the originals but I'm pleased so far.

After just under two months I'm very happy
I replaced a Seiko perpetual calendar I had used for about 13 years without a single problem. Just wanted to up-date. So far I really like the SNP008. It is a very good looking watch and so far has given good service and keeps time. I stayed up until midnight last night on New Year Eve to watch the progression of the date, month and leap year to +2. I'm not so sure these are all necessary but I really like the perpetual calendar feature and it was one of the reasons for choosing this watch.
The negatives I have heard, but not experienced, about these kinetics is the battery/capacitor may not stay charged. My experience is limited to 1 2/3 months of use but so far it works fine. I also use this as an everyday watch and wear it 8 to 18 hours each day. I also have no idea how fresh the cell was when I purchased the watch. So far- so good.
One feature I really like is the date display is large enough for "old eyes" to see and does not require a magnifier to see the date. My ultimate satisfaction can't be experienced until I have used the watch over several years.
The watch is heavier than I would prefer.
The watch is very attractive.
The watch functions as should and seems to keep very good time.
Overall I am very pleased with both Seiko watches I have owned. This one has more style than my old one but then it is 13 years newer. I believe the Kinetic charging system is working well primarily because I wear it daily. If I had not intended it for daily use I would have not considered it because of discharge problems I have read about.
Check in in two or three years for a more meaningful review.
I needed a cover for a badly deteriorated seat on my 15 year old mower. This fits right over the old seat and covers up the cracks and brittle vinyl. Just sorry I waited so long to get one.
