"The Principal" is an excellent action packed movie on razor sharp DVD!!

I purchased "The Principal" DVD because I have an old VHS copy of the movie and I wanted a cleaner and clearer picture. I have long enjoyed this violent, action packed movie. This remastered DVD has a very sharp picture; a major improvement over old VHS copies of VHS rentals and tv airings. Anyone who loves seeing a crummy, violent, drug infested high school get thoroughly cleaned up will love this movie. James Belushi's acting in this particular film is probably the best of his career. He takes the role of prinicpal Rick Latimer very seriously and is definitely believable. Louis Gossett, jr. also acts extremely well as the head of security---Jake Phillips. A gripping and gritty story unfolds as a seious of violent confrontations on the high school campus leads to a deadly showdown between the dope dealer's gang and Principal Latimer. Not to be missed! Definitely worth purchasing! A real 1987 classic!

Peter Criss solo CD

This Peter Criss solo effort is definitely one that I like. His voice is as good as Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. I bought this album because I am a KISS fan and wanted something a little softer to listen to. Criss' solo album, from 1978, contains lots of soft rock, rhythm, and blues. The ballads sound good and the more rock orinted tunes have great beats. Criss is definitely a good singer as well as a great drummer. The tracks on here are certainly easy listening, and some are really soulful and passionate. The backing band(s) generally plays well, (plenty of guitars, piano, synthesizers, etc.). It is rather surprising that this original album didn't sell more initially or later on. Overall this is a good album and definitely one worth purchasing. A good album by the Catman!!

An excellent comedy film!

I purchased "Summer School" on DVD, because I have long very much enjoyed this film. Additionally, my old VHS copy has been worn down considerably by lots of watching. "Summer School" is an excellent, light-hearted comedy that is always very easy to watch; even after a hard day. A great movie to enjoy and forget about life's troubles for awhile. Mark Harmon and Courtney Thorne-Smith's acting are second to none. This film is about a laid-back teacher (Harmon) relegated to teaching a class of likeable misfits. He not only teaches them remedial English, (and gets half of them to pass their basic reading and writing skills test), but he also teaches them a number of life lessons in general. A jerk assitant principal as well as an honest and competent principal round out the film nicely. All in all a load of laughs and a good story as well.
