Nice lens
I bought this lens to span between the EF-M 11-22 and the EF-M 55-200. It is a sharp lens and very versatile. It is my everyday lens. The three together gives me a node usable range.
Easy to use. Sharp images. Durable metal mount unlike the plastic now used on many lenses. It is what I am looking for. Too bad it is not made any more.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a zoom lens with prime results.
After reading about the online comments about how good the 35-70 was, I decided to buy one and try it out.
I have other Canon lenses in that range - 17-40, 24-105, 35L, 50 1.4 and 85 1.8 so quite a number of other lenses to test it against.
My decision was to test similar focal lengths at similar apertures. i.e - the 35-70 at 35mm 3.5 was compared to the 24-105 @ 35mm 3.5, the 17-40@3.5 and the 35L @ 3.5.
To keep things short, the 35-70 lived up to what everyone was saying. At 35mm it was equal to the 35L and at 50mm 3.5 it matched the 50mm 1.4 @3.5.
Pros - compact, light and very useful.
Cons - manual focus - but use live view and that problem goes away.
