Okay, but old model
I ordered this Chef's Rival Chopper to replace the one I purchased in a store demo a few years ago. While this unit works okay, it appears to be an older, obsolete model without some of the newer features that I liked and most likely explains why this unit was considerably cheaper than if I had purchased a new one through the manufacturer's web site. This one does not have the opening in the lid where you can add ingredients to the chopping bowl without having to remove the top. This one also has a yucky "sticky" base to it which I suppose is designed to keep it from sliding around on the counter, but I very much preferred the newer version without this gummy addition that sticks to the shelf where I keep it stored. Lastly, I don't think this unit works as well as the newer model in that rotating the knob is not as smooth nor does it seem to chop as efficiently as the newer model. In retrospect, I wish I would have paid more attention to the listing and had I known this was an older and presumably outdated model, I would have paid the few extra dollars and purchased a new one directly from the manufacturer.
