Hartke HA5500 (HA3500) Owner's Manual
Very helpful in figuring out how to get the most out of your Hartke. Yes, you can of course fiddle around with it and get a tone that you think you like but starting with knowledge of what everything does is sort of helpful prior to fiddling.
Having said that, you can actually download the manual from Hartke (samsontech) for free and print it if you'd like but I sort of prefer the bound version (easier to keep all the pages together).
All in all, I am very happy and I would buy it again... if I needed to.

Orthodox half caff
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this book because I had seen it listed on several Orthodox websites but I am very glad that I only bought a single volume. If you are truly trying to find information about the lives of saints, do not buy this book. If you are looking for something that your 6-8 year old child could use to construct a diorama for Sunday school, this book could be useful.
Actually, this could be a very nice book for individuals who were not Orthodox and who were interested in a little light reading about the saints- there is nothing offensive about any of the saintly lives or, in fact, any sign of obvious challenges that the saints overcame. The life of Saint Mary of Egypt, wonderful because of what she overcame to be an ascetic and inspirational to all readers because it shows God's mercy and the ability of the individual to overcome carnal lust through prayer, fasting, and turning away from all worldly
things, is completely silent about the depth of her former depravity. The story in this book states merely that she was very beautiful and given to worldly thoughts...
Although presumably for adults, this book does not approach the saints in an adult manner. It doesn't tell us anything edifying about who they were before they becamse "saintly" but it also doesn't tell us so much about their lives after they became "saintly" either, come to think of it.
This book is SO not worth your time or money. :-(

Great though often underrated album
Of course I bought this album for a single song: "Bluster"- which, incidentally, is the best song ever... well, okay, the best song on this album anyway. The album very much reminds me of my punk days with the biting lyrics (think "Obsession" and "Honour Me") and wild voice affectations ("Beauty"). The background music, however, is more cohesive and melodic than your run of the mill punk band with complicated and structured drum beats. Lead guitar riffs are nearly non-existent due to the extreme fuzz effects on the guitar but the bass line really shines in "Bluster" and "Lids". "So" sounds like a typical top 40 alternative-type ballad with a somewhat predictable chord progression. Still a nice song. The recording on the entire album is somewhat murky but if you mess with the equalizer a lot, you can make out the intricacies of the actual music ("Sense" is pretty much the way it sounds, despite equailizer changes). Overall a nice album for those days when you have a bit of pent up angst but you need to go to a business meeting in 20 minutes.
