Before you even get to the 100th page of this novel you will be pleasantly curious about a few things: (1) Who will produce the book-to-movie production of "I Love You, Beth Cooper", (2) WHEN is this movie coming out?! (3) Who will play the screen versions of Dennis Cooverman and Beth Cooper?! (4) What is Larry Doyle gonna write next...becaue I AM buying!
Needless to say I am excited about this novel, and I am completely satisfied about a purchase based solely on appearances (the jacket WAS cute) and stellar reviews online.
"I Love You, Beth Cooper" reads like the best parts of every great teen movie released in the past 9 years, especially "Can't Hardly Wait" starring Jennifer Love Hewitt and Ethan Embry----only WAY smarter, and way more fun! In it, Dennis Cooverman makes a brave move: confessing his unrequited love for a fellow classmate as he gives his valedictorian speech. From this point onward is one of the best scripted ( and uber apropos!) account of a wildly exaggerated---though oddly believable---graduation night. From the first sentence to the last, this novel had my mind following along with rapt attention, just as if I were already watching the movie. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Road Well Travelled
Told in a rather long and winding---yet, quite an easy-to-follow style, is the tale of how a thirty something Brit (who genially remains nameless throughout the novel!) ultimately sorts through MANY relationships on her quest for: "The One."
She pops her beta-blockers, smokes canabis, drinks more than any liver ought to be able to process, but all in all the whole tale is wittily scripted enough to encourage compassion from the reader (me)---despite the overload of pure debauchery.
As I am a fan of english authors, I figured I would try this one. It was a good read, and as such, I'll give her other novel ("Hard") a try.
