A good bargain if you need tiny quantities.
1 of 1 found this helpful I needed elementary pure silver for a chemistry project, so I couldn't just use an old coin, as they have about 20% ' non-silver ' alloying constituents to improve their wear resistance and luster.
Obviously, if you calculate the price per gram, and compare it to the markets 'spot' price, you will see that it is margenially more expensive than larger volume 'units'.
This is not how you would buy silver for investment purposes.
What this product is great for is persons who need to be able to measure exactingly small quantities for chemistry projects, or working up alloyies for small scale / home hobbiest ring / jewelry maker.
The marginally small premium you pay is a great deal considering it is pelletized in tiny pieces, making portioning down to the tenth of a gram an easy task.
The silver arrived neatly portioned in tiny zip-lock bags. It was lusterous, and free of all traces of tarnish or oxides, or oils. It was pelletized in nearly spherical globuals about 3 - 5 mm each.
Absent was that annoying portion of micro-grit that you so often find with granular samples from other vendors... This makes it very easy to dispense the entire portion without fighting with the portion of the grit that typically gets stuck in the corners, and pressed into the plastic.
For the chemest out there, the tiny spheres have the big advantage over larger 'chunks' of metal.
For example, The increased surface area allows them to dissolve relatively quickly in nitric acid. It quickly went into solution (when synthesizing silver-nitrate), and after cooking off the residual nitrogen-dioxide, yealded a crystal clear solution that was without even a hint of discoloration or cloudiness!
So far I have ordered this product twice, and have been equally pleased each time.
The next time I need pure silver for a experiment or project, I will be a repeat customer.
For the quality and convenience of small portioning, the small premium you pay over 'spot-price' is a good bargain.

It's a nice little pump but the specs are a little misleading.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a nice small compact unit that is capable of delivering the pressure indicated.
If it is not under load, it can deliver the volume specified.
The downside is, as your pressure requirements increase, the volume that the pump delivers decreases.
The pump that I received could not deliver the specified volume at the maximum rated pressure, rendering it useless for my intended purpose.
That being said, it is still a very nice little pump for the price.
It is relatively quiet considering the type of pump that it is, thanks to the nice rubber mounting system, which does a good job of dampening viberations.
It is rugged, compact, and simple.
Though it has proven not to be suitable for the purpose that I intended to use it for, it is still a nice little pump with a great number of possible uses, however, if you need to get the maximum rated volume at any amount of pressure over "full open, un-obstructed", then you had better figure on buying a pump that is rated for at least half-again the rated volume.
I am disappointed that it did not do what I expected, but then again, I may have expected too much.
I still intend to keep it, as I can think of half a dozen uses that it would be perfectly suitable for.
What it does do, for the price it costs, is a good value.
My suggestions to the vendor would be;
- Include a graph that accurately reflects the drop of the delivered volume as the pressure increases,
- Provide an option to buy a plug-in power supply that is capable of delivering the necessary current at the rated voltage.
It is very hard to find a 12 Volt power supply that will deliver more than an amp or so.
I didn't want to have to drag a heavy old car battery around with the pump. None of the pile of old power-suppliers that I had laying around were capable of coming close to delivering the wattage that I needed, so I reverted to stripping all of the wire out another old transformer with the appropriate core size, and rewinding it with a heavier wire gauge, and a 10 to 1.1 primary / secondary turn ratio. Add a few diodes to build a bridge rectifier and it's ready to go.
I had enough room in the core for a serious upgrade in the wire size. By multi-stranding each turn on the secondary windings, I produced a 12V transformer that should in theory deliver 46 Amps.
The diodes in the bridge were rated for 60 Amps, and were anchored to a 4" x 6" finned aluminum heat-sink that I had left over from something or another in my salvage bin.
With this, I can run several pumps/ devices at once.... It's my go-to power supply for anything 12V.
Sorry about the wandering... Anyway, I doubt that most people have the tools and supplies just laying around to build their own power supply, so offering a plug-in power supply appropriate to the pumps requirements would be a great option to add.
In short, it is a good product that is in need of a better description, and for people who aren't wiring it into a battery based system, a link to a suitable power supply.

A lot of light from a compact unit.
At first impression, the hanger system than came with these lights is flimsy and uneven. I think that the plastic body is a little brittle, one of mine arrived cracked, (probably shipping damage...) That is it for he down side. The Good news is that it comes with handy holes for screw mounting it, or you can add your own suspension system to the handy eyelets on the back. These come with a good quality cord, that is easily removable. The whole unit is very light weight, and compact. It puts out a generous amount of light, in a fairly wide spread at the 18" height that I mounted mine at. I used six lights in a grow box that was 18" X 48", by 18" tall. It was WAY overkill, I could have probably used three lights for the job, and had plenty of light... but I over-do everything. Overall, for the price... What you get is a great deal. I intend to buy some more of these for my aquariums.
