One of the best musicals ever.

After his success with Hello Dolly Jerry Herman hit the ball out of the park again with his musical adaptation of Patrick Dennis's Auntie Mame. Auntie Mame had already been a success as a straight play and film starring Rosalind Russel but Herman brought new life to the story with glorious music and lyrics. He also sent Angela Landsbury into super stardom when he lobbied for her to be his leading lady. Open A New Window with this wonderful musical.
