Exactly what you expect from Surefire, Protection.
One of the, if not the best 5.56 compensator on the market, and greatly improves muzzle control when properly installed.
Downside is that like all rifle compensators it greatly increases muzzle flash and blasts a heck of a concussion to the sides of the firearm. Highly recommend adding a Surefire Warden or Suppressor (if possible) when shooting in a social environment, to minimize the concussion of others around you.

Works Best with Socom Compensator
2 of 2 found this helpful This blast diffuser does exactly what it is intended to do, minimize the concussion to the sides from the socom compensator. And still has slightly better muzzle control then an A2 flash hider.
Although it can fit other Surefire Socom muzzle devices it is really only beneficial with the compensator or any Short barreled AR to redirect muzzle blast.
