A/C and Heater climate control brought back from the dead!
Although I didn't get the exact unit as pictured, and the buttons were a little different- It revived my AC and Heater, and was a fairly easy install. The only thing important I lost was BLIS on and off, but that can be done in the menu, so not that big a deal.

Saabaru 9-2x: Affordable AWD Sportwagon
12 of 12 found this helpful A GM/Saab/Subaru cooperative effort that got an AWD vehicle into the Saab lineup in 2005, the 9-2x is based on the Impreza WRX wagon with upgrades in styling, luxury, and overall curb appeal. Probably over-priced as a new car, and phased out after the 2006 model year, the Saab is available used at a considerable discount- I got mine, with only 13K miles, at about half of the original $28K sticker price. Heated leather seats, a power sunroof, and a six-cd changer are desirable options, and the base 2.5 flat-4 with 5 spd. manual tranny gives the car crisp, but not thrilling, performance- twenty more hp would be nice. The car was made in a turbo version as well, but requires premium fuel and gets poorer fuel economy. I got 34 mpg in the first road trip with the car, and the ride is quite good for a vehicle with only a 99 in. wheelbase. Handling is excellent as well, with a touch of body roll- I'm installing a heavier-duty rear sway bar to compensate. For those owners with a mechanical bent, the 9-2x is easy to modify, and most Subaru WRX parts will work on this car as well.
My ebay buying experience with this car was terrific, and not getting to see the car in person was countered by the fact that the car is still covered by half of it's 4 year, 50K mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. The dealer I worked with, Nick Alexander at Frankie's in Memphis, knew the original owner, and was able to assure me that the car was in great condition, with all records, and had been well taken care of. Unfortunately, the car sustained some cosmetic damage during shipping, and I'm still waiting to hear what DAS Auto Shippers is going to do about it.
In a nutshell: A small European AWD sportwagon with the panache of an Audi or Volvo, but Japanese-built and with the economy and reliability that have made Subaru famous- a Saabaru! It's one of the best values in the used-car market.
