Great guitar aibum
Superb guitar playing. Must be five decades into his musical career and Michael Chapman is still setting the high standards his fans have come to expect. If you've yet to catch up on his talent then buy this. Michael Chapman is still up there with the best around. Double album - great value.

Possibly for the die hard fan but well worth a listen
The limitations of the technology available for making a live recording in the late 60s are in evidence here. But having said that, this is a great insight into the early days of Steve Miller and his Band who had only formed in San Francisco a few months before. The willingness of the Fillmore to promote him also speaks volume for that venues intuition on up-and-coming artists. The abilities of Miller on lead guitar are well to the fore and the support playing is tight and controlled. The choice of tracks might be underwhelming for those more accustomed to the Joker, Fly Like An Eagle and later international hits. However all great artists - and Steve Miller is certainly one - start somewhere and this is well worth exploring. Excellent liner notes too!

Go for broke and buy it.
Mr Miller definitely milks his back catalogue. But there again this is the Miller Band at the height of its powers with an excellent cast of musicians. So what if you've heard these tracks before. In front of 20,000 adoring fans they just come alive. Great stuff.
