ANOTHER WINNER BY RENDELL
The loss of Ruth Rendell in 2015 is huge to the mystery community. The prolific author dealt in murder, not so much the how, but the why. She was a master. You can't go wrong with ANY Rendell book.

Booth is one of the leading police procedural authors out of the UK. He writes both series (Cooper & Fry) and stand alone books. He's spot on in his descriptions and mood settings

Enjoy Camilla Lackberg
Lackberg is one of the top Scandinavian mystery writers. Her books are lengthy, which makes them more enjoyable. It gives her time to explore the crime, but also the reasoning. Once you've read one of her books, you'll want to read them all.
