Can't go past this for features and value for money!
I chose the Philips Blu-Ray player after doing a lot of research. It has some extra features that I liked the idea of, and the name is one I trust.
It was quick and easy to set up, the wifi works quite well, although I am going to hard wire for better streaming. It plays a good range of media, I was pleased to see my home made dvd's played without a hitch.
On the downside, Lovefilm and NetFlix aren't supported, maybe that will be something to come in future. There are other options tho, which are already programed in.
The pros far outweigh the cons as far as I'm concerned.

Impressive little gadget
1 of 1 found this helpful I’m really impressed with this, it was easy to set up, pretty much plug it in, sign in with your Amazon account, give it some idea of your preferences and off you go. All the usuals are there, the 5 mainstream terrestrial channels, plus a few others. As a subscriber to Prime I can now have my Prime movies on my tv rather than my tablet, which is a good thing.
There’s plenty of content and apps, more than enough for me. Everything about it is designed for ease, I wish I’d bought one sooner if I’m honest. Definitely a great purchase.

Excellent value!
I bought this as a replacement for my old mixer which is showing it's age. The Von Shef is bigger, but lighter to handle. It comes in a lovely range of colours, for those who like to co-ordinate. Noise wise, about the same as my old mixer. Mixes cake batter fine, although a small niggle is that the guard on the beater is quite large, so you have to time adding anything through the splash guard opening, as the beater guard covers the opening as it rotates, I ended up with egg and flour happily whizzing around on the top of it!
The dough hook is similar, adding water was a bit hit and miss. I did feel it struggled a bit with a bread dough mix, considering it's meant to be more powerful than my old mixer.
The balloon whisk made short work of meringue, whipping cream and making pancake batter.
It has some automatic functions, press the Pulse button and it does just that, but no having to turn the knob back and forth. The Egg button whisks away quite happily, you can hear the machine adjusting itself as it goes, same with the Flour button, except not so well with bread, as previously mentioned.
The bowl is roomy, and the handles are a help. The splash guard fits snugly. I love the silicon lid for the bowl, great for covering the bowl while dough is proving. And the machine comes with a handy cover.
I bake a lot, and considering the huge price difference between the Von Shef and the other big brands, I was a little sceptical that this would meet my needs. I'm pleasantly surprised to find it does. I'd definitely recommend it for bakers and cooks new and old.
