Slide Plate takes some work to use.
I was happy to receive the front slide plate for my 1923 Singer 128. I soon discovered that it did not easily fit.
It definitely required some elbow grease to make it work. Using a wet fine grit sandpaper and maintaining the bevel of the edge, I sanded both edges until it fit.
I was told by an expert that these plates often need an adjustment. Short of finding a vintage slide plate, this is the only option.
I would rather have just been able to slide it right into place, but I am glad that that I had it when I need it.
In short, it was worth the time I spent making it fit.
