    About

I am retired and have bought model railway items all my life, usually the 'best possible' at the time, always for my own use. Some items I have kept to run and others to just keep as good as when I bought these, often they were New. Now I am mainly selling IE reducing numbers overall of the many duplicates re analogue and sometimes DCC too. I will happily post feedback for my buyers after they have posted feedback for me but I have never sought or chased for feedback about me, buying or selling. I always take care, with my listing descriptions, packaging/boxes too and despatch as soon as I can. Usually this will be the same day of any sale.

    5 x Traxdata Blu-Ray 4x Recordable Inkjet Printable BD-R 25GB

Good value and Reliable. Work every time in my Panasonic Freesat Blu Ray recorder(s)
I have gone back to using these as they work 100% in my experience, ie they format every time before use. For a time I had tried using Verbatim BD-R datalife (HTL) blanks as these were slightly cheaper per disc when bought in bulk (and I assumed Verbatim would be excellent) but my ever reliable Panasonic Freesat recorder occasionally couldn't format these HTL media (... why?!, the only 'variable' was the disc NOT the recorder or its settings). I tended to get up to 10% coasters (out of 50 I would say 5 of these became duds, i.e. each wouldn't format properly before any recording would be possible) which implies the HTL aspect of the disc design tolerances are too tight or suspect. Traxdata seem to be slightly older technology (not HTLs) re: their disks but they work fine and that is all that matters. I have not found any loss of data (i.e. high definition TV programmes) over 5 years or so of my first using these. I have two Panasoniic Freesat TV recorders - fantastic machines for recording high definition TV but these are unavailable new now.
PANASONIC DMR-BS780 BLU-RAY & DVD RECORDER HDD TWIN FREESAT HD TUNER FOR PARTS

A fine High Definition recording device to look out for (whilst you can get one) and use in 2023 and coming years too
I have 3 of these devices - all for my own use. I am writing this review in June 2023 as I still feel strongly (after 10 years ownership of my first BS780, bought secondhand - it is still working 100pc !)) that this is a first rate recorder even when I look at alternatives now available - as these have less functionality and more restrictions on what you can do etc. I have another 2 of these 780s too!! I am future proofing my recording capabilities etc for the next 10 or more years in my view, in case one of these machines finally dies (means I then have another etc) . All hard drive based devices die sooner or later due to hard drive life failure (or the laser in the recorder can fail too). I have had no failures yet, remarkably, which shows the Panasonic quality. I use my main BS780 every day and record in high definition to Blu ray (BD_RE rewriteable disks) and standard definition to ( DVD-RW rewriteable disks) or BD-RE. I have built up my own media library on PC too via use of these disks. This is only possible by using the BS-780 (or BS-880) recorder that can record content including High Definition onto blu ray disks that you can remove from the BS780 and play elsewhere. The way the world is going with licensing issues/restrictions this is the recorder to still buy. Newer recorders, in the main in my view, cannot match its capabilities as they are designed differently with restrictions due to licensing. Now is the time to pick up one of these before they become impossible to find.
Garden Gear Cultivator Rotovator Electric Tiller Soil Powerful 1050W Motor NEW

    Excellent Sturdy Cost Effective Tiller
GOOD: it works! Easy to assemble, it looks like it will last a long time too despite initial impression of plastic arms and screws holding these arms to metal frame/electric engine and tiller blades. We used it to 'plough' up a fenced off (from sheep) garden area some 10 metres by 3 metres. Well worth buying this and keeping for the long term compared to the cost of hiring a petrol rotovator. It took a lot of hammering including throwing out almost all stones. A purchase that has been pleasing, probably exceeding our expectations. Best technique is to place tiller forward and then drag back. there is long power cord. BAD: Nothing much except you need to be aware that very large stones/rocks will jam the tller - as we found out - the engine then complains but tries to turn /tiller immediately stops and you must immediately switch off the power at handle switch to investigate and disconnect from power entirely, unplug. You may possibly need to prise open the tiller blades (made of two tines held on the axle by bolts and locking nuts ) by hand / probably a metal tool eg hammer to bend the tines a little. You may still need to unbolt tiller blades to remove then reassemble tiller blades and release the jam. We had to do this once but we do live in a rock prone area in North Wales, UK. Not the machines fault. The nuts are M8 size and can't be reused as these have plastic inserts /designed for one time use only so you would need to buy replacement M8 nuts. The bolts are 40mm M8. All will be easily available at your local hardware store and cheap. Another small point, the 2 cable clips seemed weak and wouldn't stay on the arm - i.e. you couldn't use them.
