Touching, eye opening, definitely recommended.
Well told story of a sad incident, where lives of hardworking people were lost in a plane crash as they were flown to where they were to be deported, and even in death they remained mostly anonymous, I had never heard this story about this once "worst air disaster" in the state of California. If you want to know more about the people who harvest our food and some of what they've lived through over the long history of their labor in the US doing this work, then read this book.

Not an easy read, but well worth the effort.
1 of 1 found this helpful This book was written in the 1880s, so, if you want an easy read, I don't recommend it. English of that period is, well, different. But, if you persist, check definitions of words here and there that you don't recognize, and get into the groove of the author's story telling, this makes for a wonderful read. It is a telling of the story of the life of Christ, so if that is not interesting for you, don't bother with this book. Otherwise, the descriptions of scene, emotions, thoughts, actions are vivid and flesh out this timeless story so that the reader feels like an on-the-scene witness. I will savor this book at least through the end of the summer, and I will keep it once I'm done. It is a book worth reading more than once.
