Great potential
1 of 1 found this helpful The three stars are for the terrible condition these arrived in. The only thing that looked in decent condition was the pads. As far as sound these things are incredibly detailed from the very top to the very bottom. The bass quality surpasses my hifiman he400i's and 560's. These actually have the best bass response I have heard from a dynamic driver. The problem is the highs. These are very bright and can easily be fatiguing. It's a shame because the detail is definitely up there with high end headphones. I ended up putting a ring of 1/8th inch thick foam in the cup around the circular cut out that mostly solved the problem. It was all by luck but it softened the high end without messing up the bass making these my current favorite whenever I can get away with wearing an open set. I would not recommend buying a refurb from beyerdynamic like I did. Parts came broken or in terrible shape. If you do want to buy these whether to mod or for stock I would instead pay the few dollars more for the chrome edition new.

A great nvme m.2 with mid to highend performance at a lowend price
3 of 3 found this helpful For $85 it's hard to really say anything negative about the hp ex920 512gb m.2. I get 2800MB read and 1600-1700MB write which is the advertised speed and really boosts startup speed if used as an os drive. I was previously using a 500gb 860evo for windows and this is noticeably faster. I really didn't expect to notice much in regular use but the ex920 made mostly everything a good deal snappier in the os and shaved another few seconds off of the boot up time. It was incredibly easy to install and seems to stay fairly cool. I haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability but it does have a 5 year warranty which puts most of my worries at ease. The only reason why this isn't a 5 star product is because of the flashing red light and just last week bought the 1tb version for $130 which performs slightly faster. The red light isn't that much of an issue for me since I can use the m.2 below my gpu and mostly hide it but even then you still see the red light flashing slightly. To be honest it's pretty ugly with the sticker that covers the entire top of it. It would look nice with that removed but I worry about any warranty issues I would have if it was removed. Even at $85 for the 512gb version it's a good deal. You don't normally see drives this quick and this size under $100.
