Every handyman (or woman) needs this!
If you haven't been exposed to this wonderful collection of useful I formation. I'm so sorry for you. Seriously, this pocket size book is THE go-to source for information on hundreds of topics. Construction, home repair, if its in this solar system, its probably in here. Not to insult the ladies, but I consider all men incomplete without this inexpensive book. Once exposed to this valuable information, you will feel incomplete when it is not by your side. It is so complete, I use this as a crossword puzzle reference. The price is right and with the small size, it makes the best stocking stuffer you will ever buy. I've given away dozens. Not one has ever been given back! Mike In Bama
Elenco RK-485DEL Deluxe 485 Piece Carbon Film Resistor Set in Case

    Inexpensive, comprehensive collection!
This assortment has a huge collection of low power (1/4W) carbon resistors. If you want to avoid a trip for one resistor, this needs to be in your collection. For the same price, you could purchase about 20 resistors from that Raydo Something place. For most, this is a lifetime supply. Tinkers, just get this. Mike In Bama
RCA Outdoor Digital TV Antenna with 110 inch boom
    Feb 13, 2016
VHF LO / Over 40 mile antenna
Most TV stations have moved to UHF frequencies. Less than 10% are now in the VHF HI (ch 7 - 13) band. Maybe 2% are in the VHF LO (ch 2 - 6) band. What did I just say? My local Fox 6 station changed when everything went digital in 2009. All stations wanted to keep their old, familiar name to not confuse the public. Fox 6 is now a "virtual" channel. They actually transmit on "old" channel 30 now. VHF LO channels require a huge antenna because the lower the frequency, the bigger the antenna. Since Fox 6 now transmits on channel 30, the antenna can be very small. This is all important because if you are close to the station transmitter, signal strength is more important than antenna size. Google TV Fool to find what is available over the air where you live. Make a note of the "virtual" channels as compared to the "real" channels. The real channels will determine the size of antenna you need. You can also see how far you are from the transmitters you are. If you are within 50 miles of the transmitters, the RCA ANT751R my be perfect for you. It is effective for VHF HI and UHF Transmissions. From 50-80ish miles, you might want this antenna. At longer distances, you need something significantly larger. I hope this has eliminated some of the confusion about antennas and will help you make the best antenna selection the first time. I have installed many antennas in my Electronics career and have never had a call back on any of them. Good luck, Mike In Bama
