Bottom line: very good characters and development. To me an ability to identify with the times and respect.
Memories of Grammar School, friends come forth. I realize my age, however this book takes one back - good times, concern, bad times. Memories of discrimination and hate with an ending of love and caring make a person grateful for what advances we have achieved. We still have a way to go.
