Beomaster 5500 vs 6500 or 7000
The Bang & Olufsen 5500/6500/7000 system with the Master Control panel 5500 or 6500 (which will control all 3 systems) is problably the hottest stereo system ever built. My 5500 beomaster works perfectly even with most 6500 or 7000 components (accept phono). Once you read through the manual (please get one) it is easy to operate. The 5500 beomaster has the advantage that you can connect RCA plugs to the back, if you want to run something other than B&O. My 5500 runs on Infinity Studio Monitor 120 speakers and it rocks! Try to get your hands on a CD 7000 and a Beochord 7000 as a perfect upgrade. You can plug any Phono record player into the 5500 receivers RCA phono input, since it is amplified. On the beomaster 7000 you need to run it through a pre-amp to work or get a 7000 series phono record player, which has the pre-amp built in. I just wish the 5500 receivers could be controlled with the beolink 7000 touchpad remote control. But they need a 6500 or 7000 receiver to work.

Great beginners turntable, if...
Beautifully crafted in piano black. Easy to setup and operate. The mechanics are solid, but could be more refined. The turntable stroboscope speed indicator is not accurate, but you can adjust the speed and skating as well as the weight/balance. For the price it could have been a nice turntable with solid sound quality coming from the Audio-Technica E95 cartridge supplied, if the tone-arm would have been properly mounted in the first place. The factory should do a better job at quality control before sending out the units. I had to return mine in the end and bought an Audio Technica LP-120X, which worked perfectly out of the box, but costs 100 dollars more.
