It's a keeper!
Pros: Great price for an awesome snare drum. Sounds as good as a Craviotto or any super expensive drum for a way lower price. Mapex Sonic Saver Hoops are one of the best- somewhat of a cross between a flanged hoop and a die cast hoop without the choking up of the drum. They give a nice focused sound and awesome deeper, thick sounding rimshots, still leaving plenty of resonance to the drum. This drum has a great tone, resonance and sensitivity.
I actually bought this drum just for the Sonic Saver hoops, but then it quickly became one of my favorite snare drums. Definitely a keeper.
Cons: With any Mapex, I always put new American made Remo heads on the batter and snare side and I often change the snares to Canopus Dry Vintage wires. As far as I have read, the Mapex drums come with Remo heads that are made at their manufacturing plant in China. They definitely do not sound good and often give a bad impression of the drums' sound. But when you change them out for some real Remo American made heads, or whatever brand heads you prefer, then you really hear the drum sing.

Recommended: solid, sharp, fits in pocket no problem
Awesome knife if you like serrated edges and about the biggest knife that you could possibly fit in your pocket with little hassle. Super solid locking blade and knife is solid with no lose play. Blade is super sharp, great for cutting cardboard down or whatever you have to cut. There's not very many folding pocketknives with a full serrated blade like this. I liked it so much, I bought three of them. I think this is one of those that's going to go quick and then some people are going to wish they got one. Great price too.
