THE BRIDGE at REMAGEN by KEN HECHLER 1968 Paperback Pre-Owned War Book
    Jul 11, 2018
Good book on little known facet of WWII
Interesting book on the unexpected capture of the Ludendorf railroad bridge over the Rhine at the town of Remagen. It was captured by American tank units after the German efforts to blow the bridge failed. Interesting story of the combat and aftermath (Germans executed four of their own officers for not blowing the bridge.)

    Great read, have fun!
Amazing Stories---the science fiction magazine that started it all in 1926, finally died in the late 1990s (there was a media mag for a few issues after that, but that doesn't really count.) After many years of digest size issues (1953-1990)and gritty, poor quality paper, the last best version of Amazing Stories (1990-1995)was large size, slick, with full color inside and out. And the reason for the magazine-the fiction, was good, maybe better than good. This book, More Amazing Stories, is the second of 2 anthologies that pull from this 90's version of the venerable magazine. Good writing, good editing, and fond memories of the late great queen of SF; these anthologies do her justice. Trade-paperback size, this book has not only good stories, but nice covers, good binding and bright paper (Read: easy on the eyes and will not fall apart if read on the hot beach...) If, (or until) somebody with a lot of money revives Amazing (again) this is an outstanding collection of great stories from the last years of the greatest SF magazine of them all...Amazing Stories!!!
The Battle of Midway-Naval Institute Guide to the US Navy's Greatest Victory
    Aug 06, 2019
A great multiple viewpoint on the decisive naval battle at Midway, 1942.
Each chapter is by a different author telling a different aspect of the battle of Midway. Learned about a few things I didn't know, like "the flight to nowhere" flying off the Hornet in the wrong direction. Not a comprehensive book on the battle by any means, but an outstanding contribution.
