Unreliable.
I installed the alternator in my car and started the engine and it worked fine. I drove the car a couple miles and it quit working. I removed it and carefully disassembled it. I found that the commutator was dirty and not making contact. I reassembled it and reinstalled it. I started the engine and the gauge was reading fourteen volts. I have not road tested it yet. I'm not sure what to expect.
