Saved me $1000
This little part is not available from the dealer or any mainstream parts retailer. I was about to replace my compressor until I stumbled upon this little gem. If your AC blows “lukecold”, but your high/low side pressures look ok, your Freon levels are good, you have no leaks in the system, and there are no blockages, this may be all you need. Actually, my low side pressure was a little off, which is a typical symptom of this valve going bad.
This is how I did it - I just went to a local Firestone and had the depressurize the system (releasing Freon into the atmosphere is NOT cool), then I took the car home, swapped this valve out myself, then took it back to Firestone the next day to repressurize, and WOW cold air again! The only tool I needed was a pair of small circlip pliers.

Good quality but the gold color is darke...
Good quality but the gold color is darker than typical “brushed gold” finishes, which can make it hard to match other fixtures.

Nice shifter
High quality and heavy (a good thing for a shifter). Style fits perfectly in my mk1 Audi TT - looks OEM.
