OEM Quality Filter
This is a good OEM Quality replacement filter. Perfect fit and well made.
Much cheaper them buying from a main dealer and almost as cheap as buying from a motor factors.

BT Freeway PRO a Reliable Good All Rounder
Viking Communications Review Above I believe is Unfair. Personally Stating that There advice is to buy a ‘Proper Radio’ From the start seems to be a put down on the BT Freeway in an attempt to gain them more business- Remember they Specialize in [Expensive] High Powered Licensed Radios which this is Not.
A justification for this is that the BT freeway PRO is This radio is essentially the same radio/chassis and circuit board as the Motorola T5512/T5522 which both have received numerous good reviews
Do I like the set - YES.
Would I recommend it to others – YES.
Let me elaborate.
This radio is meant to be the more Professional cousin of the BT Freeway and FM models.

The audio and on/off control is performed by a top rotary control, which immediately gives the radio a professional feel and look)as compared to all the other push button volume types.
The radio uses A NI-MH Rechargeable Battery Pack OR three AA cells, which gives it a fair bit longer use over the models that use AAA cells. The power charge on the display has three bars, and works well. When the charge has decreased to one bar, the radio gives a warning pip every few minutes.
The radio appears to be a sturdy beast that could withstand a knock or two - The antenna is a good big rubber beast too as compared with the other models I have used.
All in all, the entire radio is a physically big radio compared to other 'dinky' ones around, but not to big to be a nuisance.
If you have a set thet comes with Belt Clips The belt clip supplied is quite ungainly, and can be described to be something similar in size to a magnetic security tag that is used by clothing stores. It functions well as a belt clip, and has a nice push quick-release type action, but if you aren't using it on a belt, you will definitely want to remove this large pokey piece of plastic.
One important feature of this radio which I have no come across on other sets is the what I call CTCSS Ident feature during SCAN. When you do a SCAN and you find a channel that is in use, not only will the radio tell you the channel number, it will also tell you the CTCSS code that is in use.
If you push the PTT button within a few seconds after the remote station stops transmitting (before your radio continues its scan again), the radio will automatically transmit on the channel AND the CTCSS code of the last station it heard so you will always be able to transmit back to them.
The radio would has a 60 transmit time-out feature. After 60 seconds of transmit is reached, the radio ceases transmission and gives a warning tone. There is a 'dodge' which will work to turn off the TX timeout. You have to hold down both the ‘ + ‘ and Menu buttons while you turn the set on, and if it works you should then find that you can transmit for longer than a minute. This state of affairs should continue for as long as the radio remains turned on.
All in all though, I like this radio. Programming and use is simple, straight forward and easy.

Excellent Pocket DAB
1 of 1 found this helpful This is one of the better looking Pocket DAB radios I found, you can also get regular FM reception as well. The radio can save 10 DAB and 10 FM Stations as presets with RDS Function.
Its solidly built although the silver finish and plastic buttons used dose make the radio feel a little cheap.
Having an Extendable antenna makes this much better than radios which rely on the headphone wire to act as the antenna. DAB and FM reception is good regardless if I extend it or not!
Battery life is average; I can get around 9 hours use on DAB double if not more on FM. The screen backlight can be customised through the menu to save the battery.
The battery is built in and is not replaceable however it charges via Micro USB which is handy.
A Micro USB cable is included in the box but no wall charger and it will also charge from a computer.
The included earphones aren’t great but when using a pair of higher quality ones sound quality is as you’d expect from a DAB radio.
Being a pocket radio it only has a Mono loud speaker. Most stations still broadcast in Mono anyway so it’s no great loss and is useful for when you don’t want to listen with headphones eg in the garden or in bed.
Having said that radio being radio means music stations should be in stereo & talk stations should be mono whats the point of having a DAB radio to listen to mono music?
Overall I'm pleased with it for the price.
