Quick hot water.
It serves our purpose. The kitchen is located about 80 feet from the main hot water heater. I want hot water quicker so a small water heater works for us.

Hot water when you need it.
Due to the design of our house the kitchen faucet is located about 60 feet from our hot water heater. I wanted to install a "instant water heater" but didn't have 220v available under the sink. This heater only needed 12 amps so I could plug it in to the same outlet as the dishwasher and garbage disposal. You wont get a long duration of hot water but for short, hand washing or dish rinsing, it serves the purpose.
