Masterful piano music, brilliant technique
Old world piano playing on a grand scale, Bolet is the master of Liszt and this album is a stunning collection of their shared genius. Breathtaking technique, wonderful sound. This is a gem collection at a great price.

Hamelin has discovered Haydn's Genius
Hamelin has discovered how to make Haydn sonatas show their genius. The performances are fantastic, beautiful, deeply revealing. He has tapped into a wealth of greatness we never really realized before. Yes, the Richter recordings of some of these sonatas are great, but Hamelin's are revelatory. Highly recommended to anyone interested in great pianism.

Worth the time
Incredibly detailed account of social and political changes in Britain before the Great War. Compelling reading on a vast scale. If you like long history books, this one is beautifully written. A big read, but worth your time.
