Great look, very good battery life, great fitness/sleep data, very bad SMS notification system.
I purchased this watch after two weeks of research. My decision was made based on battery life, look, size, and features. I was concerned that the 47mm version would be too big, but it does not look too big on my wrist (I'm a 5'7" slim guy). I was a Pebble 2 user, and it is not easy to find a slim watch with a battery life higher than 5 days with 24x7 heart rate monitor as with my Pebble 2, but after Fitbit devoured the company (I do not know why anyway, because I did not see any improvement in latest Fitbit watches), Rebbel has been great to keep the watch working so far, but not enough to me to keep it (too many Bluetooth disconnection issues during a day and therefore many messages not seen on time). I think the Huawei GT is a great alternative. It is not too expensive, has excellent fitness features, a very good battery life (9 days real-life, w/hear rate monitor, sleep monitor, and ~90 mins of exercise w/GPS and altimeter), and it has a classy great look. It feels like a quality product.
The main flaw to me is the notification system because this is poorly implemented for SMS. When I receive an SMS, it just has a weak vibration that sometimes I cannot perceive (when I am busy, focus on other things like a conversation, reading, watching tv, etc). It does not work with Verizon message either, so I had to go back to Google message although it is not my favorite because I need a messaging app that ensures that I receive the message and Verizon message repeat the notification (only in the phone) several times to make sure you see it. You can not change in the app the way the watch vibrates for each notification as with my Pebble nor if it can be repeated, and as I need a good notification messages system for work purposes, it does not meet the requirements. It does NOT even turn on the screen when you receive the SMS!!!!! I hope Huawei can improve this in the future.
Another flaw to me is the fact it does not sync with Google Fit. My Pebble was able to do that so I did not lose my years of data. All other actual or missing features are secondary to me.
Overall, I think this Huawei is a very good option for most people. It has almost everything you may need, a great look, a very good battery life and provide great fitness and sleep data. If SMS is not the most important thing to you, I would suggest this watch without hesitation.
