ISP Decimator II G String Does The Job!
1 of 1 found this helpful I've had noise problems from the distortion and compressor pedals on my board for years. My Marshall JMP amp (1979) doesn't have an effects loop, but with a little research, I found that the ISP Decimator II G String sounded like the ideal solution to eliminate noise through the board - it turned out to be fantastic! The pedal allows you to first supply the guitar's unaltered input level, which it uses in calculating the noise threshold. I then routed it just to the pedals that were causing the problem. That signal then comes back through the Decimator and is routed out through the rest of the board and out to the amp. I adjusted the Threshold control on the Decimator (-40 in my case) and - bango! - noise gone. The beauty of this set-up is that only the pedals that were the problem are treated by the Decimator, with the rest effectively downstream and bypassed. And, the noise was eliminated without affecting the level or output quality of the distortion and compressor pedals. I highly recommend this product.
