Better/more informative than the t.v.show but adds immensely to the show experience!

I began watching the show before discovering that it was first a book, so i stopped about halfway through season two to begin the book. i'm now finishing part two of the book(about halfway) and i'm really glad i chose to stop and read the book. Though they did a fantastic job with the show, the book tells so much of the story that wasn't able to be convey in the show, and by doing so it adds a depth to the characters and events that really allows a better understanding. Once i finish the book i'll then finish the series, having and even deeper appreciation for what the show will convey ( :
