Average follow up
This is the second of two Insect Trust LPs. The first eponymous LP came out in 1968 and can't be praised highly enough. A mix of blues and American folk. Its best tracks have a mesmerising quality that captures the imagination.
This, the follow up, appeared in 1970 on a different label. Some tracks continue where the first left off. "The Eyes Of A New York Woman" and "Our Sister The Sun" are the sort of slow hypnotic tracks that shows them at their best. However there are many tracks that don't grab the attention.
Don't go away thinking this is a average group. They come from left field and tracks like "Glade Song" are just bizarre". They might appeal to people who like the American Kaleidoscope.
So the main weakness is a lack of songs that linger in the memory. I'm glad to have this CD (which replaced an LP) but this album is just average.

Monitor/TV
We bought this as a replacement PC/XBox monitor for a son and the TV was an added bonus. It does these jobs okay but it really is at the budget end of the spectrum. For the money it is good value but in retrospect we might have been better paying a little more.
In terms of the two jobs, the TV is the better performance. It provides an acceptable picture. As a monitor, the performance is comparatively disappointing. Not quite sharp enough really.

Interesting Archive find
Followers of Arthur Lee and Love will know that he has recorded lots of material that failed to see the light of day at the time. This title dates from the period (1971) after False Start (1970). Other unreleased material includes a March 1970 session with Jimi Hendrix and Black Beauty (1973).
Whilst this recording stayed in the vaults, some of the songs were rerecorded for Vindicator (1972). Some of these tracks are full versions and others just demos but quality of the latter is on a a par with full versions.
This clearly isn't expected to be lost masterpiece. However, I would say that I was pleasantly surprised by how good the recordings are, both from a sound quality perspective and as a performance. If you like Vindicator then this album captures many of those songs in different performances that are definitely worth hearing. Recommended for fans.
Note: The LP version contains extra tracks excluded from the CD.
