Great Capacitor for QRP Tuner

I bought two of these for building a manual antenna tuner into my uBITX HF transceiver chassis. They look to be well made, and the capacitance measures as advertised. Note that the plate spacing is very close. So I wouldn't try to use these at power levels above about 5 or 10 watts.

Workhorse of a rig

My first HF transceiver was an IC-735. After years of reliable service in the shack, I decided to by another one for my office desk. Capable of 100% duty cycle for digital modes, and easy to operate remotely with a homebrew CI-V interface.

Handy little tuner, but built instructions are sketchy

The price is great, and you get a nice little low power antenna tuner if you assemble it correctly. But the build directions are very lacking in detail, especially when it comes to winding the inductor. If you have kit building and soldering experience and don't mind figuring out the details for yourself (using photographs in the instructions), then I'd recommend this as a good value for your QRP go-kit. You can even find some YouTube videos with handy hints. But if you have never wound an inductor or can't read a schematic, you'd be better off spending more money on a finished tuner (or high-end kit).
