Get a different tool

This tool is great when it works. I have used 2 of them. The first one stopped booting up (turning on) even though the battery was fully charged. it was still under warranty so we got it fixed through the company. When we got it back it booted up but it was very limited in the vehicles it would work with. Company said we needed to update the software. So we did and it still didn't work right. This was a shop tool so it wasn't treated the best. When I went to work at a different placed I needed a TPMS tool. Thinking it was because of how the tool had been treated, I ordered one for myself. It works great until 2 months after the warranty when it also quit booting up. The company tried to sell me an update. I said "Dude, if the GD tool won't even turn on how in the h3ll can I do an update." I bought an Autel instead. It's not as user friendly but hopefully it last more than a year.
