Useful combo machine for pot and latte.
This espresso/coffee maker seems to be a fairly good machine so far. It does most of what it should as it should- though I am not experienced with an espresso machine. The steam-ready light doesn't seem to work: that's no biggie for me. The milk steamer seems to increase the level of milk in the container as it is held under and steamed: I don't know if that is a flaw or not at this point. I start with a certain amount of milk in my mini pitcher and before it's all steamed and frothy it's starting to overflow. Also, as the machine is warming up (before the espresso-ready light comes on) steam pours out of the pressure steamer port (where the puck-holder gets cranked in tight). I used a newer version of this machine very recently and I don't think it did that. But this older one seems to stop pouring steam when the espresso-ready light pops on in the espresso button. When it's all said and done, the espresso tastes pretty good to me. I'm a first time home espresso maker who likes coffee pretty tasty/strong. Perhaps some more practice and time will tell.
