Costly but effectively keeps water clear and clean without eye irritation
Using this keeps the water soft and clear, but eliminates eye irritation from chlorine and minimizes algae growth. However, the chlorine cartridges are hard to find and are costly, at $12-15 each, and must be replaced every 3 weeks or so. Additionally, the mineral portion (green part) is only good for 6 months. Depends on what you want, we would like it to be less expensive but this doesn't irritate our son's eyes, so we eat the expense.

Keeps water clean with less chlorine (would make a good slogan), but expensive
Pros: Keeps water clean and clear without chlorine smell and eye burn, Cons: Expensive compared to chlorine, still requires shock, stabilizer, ph balancing, so not a money saver. Chlorine cartridges can't be refilled, so a big hunk of plastic to send to recycle or landfill.
