A good dock with a few flaws
2 of 2 found this helpful Firstly, this dock is very decent if you want to have the option of a desktop setup with dual monitors. I bought mine pre-owned as the buy new price is way way too high..
A few issues I’ve had is when I plug my XPS 15 9560 into the dock and boot it up the dock causes my system fan to spin up pretty loud and it stays this way until you shut it down.
Dell said this is a design feature to keep the system cool due to extra load caused by connecting the dock but I reckon it’s a design flaw ..
Another little issue is how loud the fan is on the dock itself, it’s proper loud but thankfully it only kicks in here and there..
The last complaint I’d have is that the USB-C cable to connect to your laptop is on the wrong side of the dock, the opposite side to my laptop and then the lead is quite short and it’s non-removable so you can get a longer cable as a replacement.
Apart from these little issues it’s doing the job that I bought it for so I can’t complain too much.
