Frontier House
1 of 1 found this helpful In order to receive title to the land they hoped to someday own homesteaders had to live off the land for five years. Many failed to do so. In Frontier House three adventerous modern families travel to Montana to spend five months living in the wilderness - for a PBS relaity series - to see if they have what it takes to prepare for one winter on their 1883 frontier homesteads.
Each family finds living on the frontier is much harder than they ever imagined. But, as time passes, each family adjusts to life on the frontier, and, in the end, most of the participants are overcome with genuine sorrow when the time comes for them to leave their homesteads behind and return home.
For anyone who has an interest in the Old West Frontier House provides a brief glimps of life in a bygone era.
