Hopeless mobile phone battery as it couldn’t actually recharge!

The battery utterly failed to recharge my mobile phone despite several efforts of trying to recharge my mobile phone. When I first put the battery into the back of my mobile phone and started charging it, the charge went from zero to 60 but then within an hour, it rapidly fell down to 30, and despite having the battery on charge all night, it didn’t not retain its charge and fell below 20. Again I put it on 24 hour charge but it had no effect and indeed fell below 20. I’m very disappointed in this product as I feel I have wasted my money on what appears to be a defective battery.
