Good game, for the real master system ONLY
Good game for the Master System. The Master System adapter for Genesis will not play this game. It is one of only a couple that are not compatible with the Sega Genesis adapter. Still, it's a fine game for your authentic Master System.

Good fun for one or two
A good, fun shoot-em-up for one or two. It's no Contra, however. Graphics are clear and understandable, controls, not so much... You do get used to them, though. The re-play value is high for this game. It's a challenge, but not frustrating (at least not once you get the hang of it). It's a good addition to any NES collection as two player co-operatives are not all too common.

One of the best.
River Raid is always rated as one of the best games for the 2600 and for a good reason - the game is fun, challenging, and doesn't lose it's playability with time. You have to run up the river in your plane, blowing up stuff without running out of gas. Sounds simple, but there's a lot of strategy involved here. If you like 'space shooter' type games then River Raid is probably something you'd really enjoy. As one of the more popular cartridges for the 2600, it can usually be had for a fair price.
