If you like Monopoly, you'll like this too
There are two things to review concerning this product- the quality of the actual product and the quality of my order from this particular seller.
The buying process was easy. I ordered it and it arrived at my P.O. box in 3 days. A close inspection found that everything was included (and wrapped in lots of plastic). I have no concerns about this seller.
The actual product is also excellent. I think everyone who enjoys regular Monopoly will appreciate (at least) the occasional switch to play with this Mega edition. Also, those who dislike Monopoly solely because it takes too long could like this game too (since the game is significantly shorter).
All rules from normal Monopoly still apply. The rulebook included in this product has the original rules, but if you already know how to play normal Monopoly, it'll take 5 minutes to understand this version.
I won't go into detail about the game changes, but a few new features are:
1.) A new die speeds the game up. It has sides with numbers 1-3, a Monopoly dude, and a Bus. The Monopoly guy makes you move forward to buy a property, or once they're all bought, to pay rent. The Bus lets you get a Bus ticket (below).
2.) A third pile (along with Chance and Community Chest) is on the board called "Bus Tickets." They let you move forward to any space on the side of the board that you're on (instead of rolling the dice).
3.) Each Monopoly has another property. Since it's more difficult to get a whole monopoly, you only have to have 3 properties to start building (and only two for the purple and blue monopolies). In addition, each side has a third new space, such as "Gas Company." The board is now 13x13.
4.) You can build skyscrapers past hotels if you own a whole color group. You can build train depots if you own a railroad.
5.) There's a $1000 dollar bill. You even get to start with one.
Overall, a great addition to normal Monopoly. I still enjoy the normal game because it seems so simple after playing with this, and you can use the speed die in this set to make the original go faster, but this is already becoming the family favorite.
