Just perfect and excellent quality
These special hinges are exactly what I needed to replace cheap ones on a designer desk. They were exactly the right size and of superior quality. They are made of brass and will likely out-live the desk itself.

Thank Heaven for the "Good Old Days"
Thank heaven for old and reliable hardware products like these. There really is something to be said for the "Good old days," and the Hoffman 41 Air Vent is one of them. I had been having a spitting valve that was causing a lot expensive problems for a while. It was in my bedroom upstairs, so when the water ran out of the valve, it would just destroy the ceiling downstairs in my foyer. I repaired it a great cost, once or twice, and it happened again and again, even with a plumber being called in. All he did was change out an old Vari-Valve for a new one (and charged me way too much), and lo & behold after about a week, the problem happened again and ruined the ceiling below...AGAIN! Ugh!!! :( My plumber didn't do good analysis on this job, and didn't call me back when I complained about his leaky valve. He may be out of my business from this point on.
Anyway, I saw this old Hoffman air vent offered here on eBay for a much reduced price, and remembering the quality of Hoffman products from long ago, I decided to give this seller a try, and it worked!!! WooHoo! :D The valve shuts off against steam & "water," now how simple & smart is that? Just what I needed...and all for less than $10 bucks! :)
The Vari-Valves allow you to adjust the heat, but also have a moving part that let's water pour out of it like a sieve -- Not Good on this radiator! I wish I had better thought all this through long ago, would've saved me a lot of time, money and aggravation...But live & learn, I guess. :/ Happy to know some of these wonderful old products are still around, and that good sellers like this one offer them for home remedies that really work. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
