Great for field, or a mountain hunting! The Havoc doesn't have the removable top pivoting piece, but, don't be fooled!
I have used shooting sticks for year's, and a walking stick with a rifle rest on top. I had been use to the slight movement, that comes with using these style steady sticks, and have always done well. But, the tripod experience is insane!!! I got the flat black Havoc, just like my walking single pole, with my rifle rest on top. The black would be great for hunting in a blind. I use flat camo colors, and paint my own camo on my equipment. So, it will have a better chance blending in, here in Missouri. We hunt the rolling, sometimes steep hill's before you hit the Ozark Mountains. Which is mainly pastures, do to the poor soil, and rock's in this area. I paint reeds, and dead grass, some leafs on my stuff.
This was a total surprise! After taking a seat, by a fallen Oak, at the edge of our wood's, watching our hill's of pasture ground. I set it up. Just like my walking stick, with a simple slow twist on each leg, it was set up in no time. Exactly where it let my rifle set perfectly against my shoulder, and left hand below the rifle, shotgun rest. I snugged my Remington 742 30-.06 Woodmaster, and started glancing our bottom ground, after the pasture ends, and wood's to the big creek. It was so smooth, and silent to move, I didn't have to move my body,or arm's near as much. Knowing, the deer always come out within the same couple hundred yard's of the wood's edge, to the pasture in the evening's I just started to wait.
This is a very nice, well put together, smooth moving, silent, an very strong attachment for the rifle rest! Perfect for many hunting situations, and will work great for a fishing rod holder, this coming spring when the Blue Cat's start feeding heavy again! I was so impressed with this brand, that I gave my Havoc to my son, and bought a Bog, Adrenaline for myself. It has the swappable top rifle, shotgun mounts!
Anyway, that hunt on top of the pastures was amazing. I saw all kinds of animal's, from the lack of movement. It sold itself! For the price, you can compare it to one of my father's, $300 rifle rests, easy. I let my son use it the next day, he went out with me, and I knew he would love the stability! He pulled off the rubber feet, and it sank into the ground enough to make it even more stable! So, I told him he could have it, ensuring a perfect shot!
It will be great for Spring Turkey Season also! LOL. Anyhow, I immediately bought myself the Bog Adrenaline, and am just as elated with it. It's quick to set up, and the rifle holder's are insane. I now need the Bog Deathgrip! You can find many outdoor uses for the Havoc, it's light weight, will fit in a pack, is silent, and moves extremely smoothly! I give it 5 star's for the price, and what you get for your money. A must have if you never want to miss, even hundreds of yard's away. I'll be bringing it to the long distance shooting range next time out, and for those dang "Coyotes", their time on the farm is about up. Come the end of January, we will dust entire packs, if we can. My son will use the Havoc with the AR, there's room for the magazine! I'll pluck them with the Bog Adrenaline, and 75 grain 30-.06 rounds. A all around great product! Highly recommended!!!
